The Government has announced that sixteen new pilot local authorities will receive a share of £56 million aimed at driving forward the roll out of new electric vehicle (EV) charge points. The funding will expand the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) scheme aimed at supporting the transition towards local charge point provision secured on a commercial basis. West Sussex is one of the 16 new pilot authorities and has been allocated £2.9 million from the scheme. In addition, an £8 million LEVI Capability Fund has been launched to equip local authorities with the skills to scale up their charging strategies. The Government has also brought forward a further £7 million funding for the existing On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS).
